The inaugural Santos Women's Tour in 2015 was an exciting addition to the Santos Tour Down Under and will return in 2016 as an internationally ranked event.
In a big win for the race, the 2016 Santos Women's Tour was granted international status by the world's governing body. The race is now a UCI 2.2 class event as well as still being part of Cycling Australia's Subaru National Road Series (NRS).
The new classification means NRS teams were still able to compete for points in their own country while racing against more international competitors.
