Tour Talk: Who was the youngest TDU winner ever?
07 Dec 18
In the 20 editions of the Santos Tour Down Under, 15 cyclists from around the world have won the General Classification and walked away with the Santos Leader’s Jersey.
Of those 15 winners, the youngest took out top spot at just 21 years old (and two months, two days if we’re being specific).
If you didn’t guess it, it was Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez in 2005.
The young gun, who has since competed in 10 editions of the TDU, won the race with a 33 second lead ahead of Aussie Allan Davis.
Talk about a stellar way to end your debut TDU!
