09 Nov 18
ROAD & track cyclist Maeve Plouffe has been recognised by the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) as Program Sportsperson of the Year in cycling.
The 19-year-old, who rode in her first Santos Women’s Tour Down Under as part of TIS Women’s Racing team in January, has proven herself a worthy recipient of the award.
As well as competing in the WTDU earlier in the year, Plouffe also participated in the Track Nationals women’s team pursuit, where the Cycling South Australia team won gold.
She also competed in her first senior UCI Track World Cup in October in France.
The awards celebrated the success of SASI athletes and their teams throughout 2018.
