The City of Adelaide Festival Village has been relocated from Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi to Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga for one action-packed day and evening on 26 January. This event may be effected by the changes. To keep up to date with any changes, subscribe to our newsletter.

Thank you for joining RIDE Holidays Group Rides in South Australia. We are excited to be riding with you, experiencing the Santos Festival of Cycling and most importantly - showing you the very best of what the region has to offer.

Our guides are all Adelaide born or bred, so know exactly where those best city and country roads, cafes and wineries hide. We have been organising global cycling tours since 2005 and have helped thousands of lycra clad Aussie and Kiwis ride the world! We pride ourselves on delivering ego free, inclusive cycling experiences for all!

On our Group Rides, there is one cycle guide for every 5-6 riders. Generally speaking – we ride in groups of 10-12 cyclists. You’ll always have a guide at the front and at the back. We will always find riders of your ability, you’ll never be isolated. We will offer three daily ride groups: Espresso, Latte and Cappuccino. Our rides are ego free and we will always be flexible. If you want to ride shorter, wider, longer, slower, faster then please let us know and we will make it happen, if we can.

Espresso or Double Espresso - challenging. This is where the whippets hang out. Overall average pace including hills. (30kmhr)

Latte the intermediate option. A bit more time for coffee. (27.5kmhr)

Cappuccino the easier option. Some really good chat and plenty of ride time. (25kmhr)

We will provide a support vehicle each day, including a supply of bike spares, ice cold drinks, bananas, snacks and room for your day bags.

We look forward to riding with you; Chris, Dean, Karl and the Ride Holidays Adelaide team.

Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th January: Please join us, we will ride from and then return to the Big Bike in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga. We aim to the see the race route daily, a no-frills simple approach. Our guides and support vehicle will ensure a great day is had. On Wednesday 26th we will finish up back at Velo, ready for the evening of Crit racing on track! Thursday 27th we will follow race route, from Stirling to Hahndorf, then return. Each day we will explore and show you the best of the Adelaide Hills, all those spots we know, and our visitors don't. A total of at least four hours ride time today, not including stops.

Friday 28th January: We meet at the Big Bike in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga at 7am. Today we ride to a late breakfast (930am) at the top of Mount Lofty which is 800m above sea level. The café has a reservation for us. The big breakfast is unbelievably big, the views are amazing, no wonder hundreds of cyclists ride this climb daily. Bring your camera. Eat up – you will need the energy. Today we aim to ride part of the race route and then see the race start from Mt Lofty at 11am. A total of at least four hours ride time today, not including stops.

Saturday 29th January: Once again we meet at the Big Bike in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, post breakfast this time. Then we’ll jump on our bikes and ride 60km (either via the hills or via the 40km bike path) to Willunga Hill, lets give it a crack ourselves. The race route today finishes on top of the hill. There’s only one restaurant at the top of Willunga Hill and we have booked it. The idea being that you can use the restaurant as base and come and go as you please, on or off the bike. They have a beautiful deck, shady spots, BIG screen and all the comforts. We have booked a light brunch, we can then watch the rider finish the tour under the arch! Remember to bring your change of shoes/clothes today and our support vehicle will bring them to the stage finish. Post race finish we will ride back to Adelaide, hills or beach? Plenty of options. Our support vehicle will be close by at all times.

Please read through and follow COVID Safe practices when attending any Santos Festival of Cycling event.
