Adelaide once supported almost 200 small, medium and large bicycle builders. Bike shops were as prolific as your local deli, bikes were affordable, easy to maintain and provided cheap transport to school children, parents, workers, academics, Policemen and of course, the Postmen to which the legacy continues today.
South Australia has a long and proud history of local, national and International champions, and the Vintage Bike Display will be highlighting Deane Toseland. Becoming a household name in the 30’s from his legendary victories, his continued track and road success saw him run his own shops offering Super Elliot cycles and his own Toseland Specials, now very highly sought after.
You're invited to come and visit the vintage bicycle display in the City of Adelaide Festival Village.
