Introducing your 2019 Santos Best Dressed Town winners
05 February 2019
The Santos Best Dressed Town competition at the 2019 Santos Tour Down Under encouraged local towns, schools, businesses and residential properties along the race route to dress up and cheer on the TDU peloton riders as they flew by.
This year, the judging was no easy feat, with over 90 impressive nominations across the state.
The Overall Best Dressed Town for 2019 was Uraidla which got into the spirit of the TDU during Subaru Stage 3 with a King of the Mountain, French-inspired polka-dot theme that also highlighted the region's noteworthy produce industry.
The vibrant community was an energising sight for the peloton as they raced to the finish line in the Adelaide Hills town on the Thursday. Three-time world champion Peter Sagan took out the stage win.
Woodside took out second place for the Santos Best Dressed Town, while Strathalbyn came in third place.
Overall Best Dressed Commercial Property was awarded to Lobethal Bakery, also during Subaru Stage 3.
The Aldinga Beach property belonging to S. Hornlund was deemed the Overall Best Dressed Private Residence for the 2019 TDU during Be Safe Be Seen MAC Stage 6.
And the Overall Best Dressed School/Paddock went to T. and A. Fordyce in Summertown on Subaru Stage 3.
The Santos Tour Down Under wishes to congratulate the winners for the 2019 competition, and thank all the nominees who put in such an amazing effort during the race.
