Detours: McLaren Vale

Known for its abundance of vineyards and incredible culinary offerings, McLaren Vale – located 40 minutes south of Adelaide - welcomes THINK! Road Safety Stage 5 of the Men’s race. 

Meet at the Tour Village and board our premium air-conditioned coach as we head to your first stop – a private pen at the Start Line in Christies Beach for the start of this 129km leg. 

Travel then to Mitolo Wines for a guided wine tasting as you look out across the expansive vineyards. Discover firsthand the origins of Mitolo, the craftmanship of the wines and the playful personality behind each glass. 

Lunch will be at McLaren Vales coveted eclectic regional restaurant, the Salopian Inn. Enjoy a three-course long lunch created with local and seasonal produce, all of course, with wine in hand. Just steps away from your lunch table, you will have prime viewing for three race pass throughs, as riders battle it out on this hilly stage. 

Our bus will then drop you back to the Tour Village in Adelaide’s CBD. Check out some of our favourite things to see and do in Adelaide and continue your evening at your own pace.
