The defending Santos Ochre Jersey winner is gunning for a third consecutive title in 2020 and will have the support of a fully-stocked Mitchelton-SCOTT outfit.

Simon Yates celebrates his Vuelta victory in Madrid

Making his Santos Tour Down Under debut, Briton Simon Yates brings an enviable palmares to the Adelaide startline, inclding the 2018 La Vuelta title, three stage wins at the Giro d'Italia, and two at both the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana. He provides Daryl Impey an exceptional boost in the quest for Mitchelton-SCOTT's third consecutive outright win, and is a rider capable of winning the race himself.

Richie Porte pushes to victory on Stage 6 in 2019


Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo)

A cult hero in Australian cycling and winner of the last six Willunga Hill finishes, Richie Porte has finished top-two (including one win) in the Santos General Classification since 2017.

Mads Pedersen wins the World Championship

Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo)

He came from nowhere to claim the 2019 world championship in a rain-soaked Yorkshire and will line-up in the famous rainbow stripes to help Richie Porte in his quest to reclaim the Santos Ochre Jersey.

Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale)

The Frenchman is the frontman for AG2R La Mondiale (the only team to have raced at every Santos Tour Down Under) and is a multiple Tour de France stage winner. He'll kick his season off for the first time in Adelaide.

As the reigning European Road Race Championship winner, he’ll wear the blue stripes and yellow stars of the continental road race champion in Adelaide.

André Greipel (Israel Start-Up Nation)

He's won more stages than any rider at the Santos Tour Down Under and German sprint veteran André Grepiel (pictured in his most recent Santos Tour Down Under in 2018 with Lotto Soudal) will suit up in the colours of new UCI WorldTeam Israel Start-Up Nation when he returns to Adelaide after a one-year hiatus. A genuine contender for stage wins.
