Virtual Rides

This ride showcases the best of what will be the first day of the 2022 women’s racing season in Ziptrak Stage 1. Words that describe this stage are picturesque, flavours of the Tour de France with the mansions, rolling terrain through the vineyards. Made for the likes of the sprinters, hiding in the bunch and gritting their teeth to hang in only showing themselves during the flat wide sections approaching the sprints in Williamstown. The final climb up Whispering Wall is deceiving, before the approach to the final 3ks of the race.

Total distance: 37.46km / Elevation gain: 484m

63 FESTIVAL OF CYCLING THURS MEAGHAN COLES MC14237

Starting on the grounds of the Penny’s Hill winery, this stage travels up Peters Creek Road through the Kuitpo forest before descending into the Mt Barker area for a long haul that will load up the legs and wear out the sprinters. This stage will see riders trekking along a 2.8km section of dirt & gravel through gumtrees and pine forests as it climbs towards the QOM at Prospect Hill. A feed zone at the Meadows bakery and a Sprint in Echunga, the race enters the most technical section of the day on its way to Hahndorf, before the course undulates and turns its way back towards the finish line with another opportunity for the sprinters to make their mark in Echunga.

Total distance: 43km / Elevation gain: 606m

STAGE3

The final stage for the female peloton to tackle during the 2022 Santos Festival of Cycling, is the longest and will require both skill and concentration as it features 2 unpaved sectors, 2 sprints, and a final challenging climb only 2 kilometres from the finish. This stage is dynamic, with changes in terrain, elevation, and wind direction every rider will need to stay focused.

Total distance: 37.5km / Elevation gain: 474m

Lobethal Urailda 2019

Stage 4 in the Santos Virtual Tour Down Under, signals the first stage for the men’s professional peloton during the 2022 Santos Festival of Cycling. The ride starts off with a gentle roll out to Lobethal before our first categorised climb of the Tour. Get the body warmed up and ready for the descent down into Cudlee Creek and follow the undulating roads around Kangaroo creek reservoir into Gumeracha before turning back towards Lobethal and finishing off on the final loop with a couple of ramps to test the riders legs.

Total distance: 43.5km / Elevation gain: 762m

1052 X 680 Challenge Tour Inclusions2

We start stage 5 atop of our highest and most iconic climb in Adelaide, Mount Lofty. It’s one of the most spectacular roads we have as we pass Cleland conservation park and begin the race in Summertown and dive downhill through Uraidla and into Balhanna. Get ready for the super-fast start as you plummet down the windy Greenhill Road section turning towards the picturesque village of Hanhdorf, before beginning the second Climb of the race Hawthorn Road.

Total distance: 47km / Elevation gain: 762m

1052 X 680 Challenge Tour

It’s Willunga Hill Day! Everyone has the chance to test their form against the King of Willunga Hill, Richie Porte. Richie’s dominated this climb for the past 8 years and Race Director, Stuart O’Grady can’t see anyone defeating him this time either. We start the ride alongside one of the most highly rated coastlines in Australia, Aldinga. After riding along the coast you will make your way along the wide roads and gentle climb up towards McLaren Vale before the leg sapping Willunga Hill comes into vision.

Total distance: 32.15km / Elevation gain: 534m
