Remco Evenepoel is back on the bike after horrific pelvic injury

It was a horror start to the season for Deceuninck-Quickstep star Remco Evenepoel after fracturing his pelvis in a crash at Il Lombardia... The latest update? He's back in the saddle.

This week, Remco Evenepoel would have been competing in the Giro d'Italia.

Instead, he continues the grueling recovery from a pelvic fracture he sustained at Il Lombardia at the start of the UCI racing season.

Back in August, Evenepoel fell 6m off a bridge as he whipped around a bend during the race.

He has spent a significant time in recovery and on crutches... But he has progressed quickly, and is now at a point where he can hop on his bike... And that's what he did on Saturday!

For the first time since the crash, the Belgian was riding his bike outside for a lap in the rain at home in Belgium.

He rode 70km, and titled it "Mia Grande Partenza" ("My big start" - coinciding with the Giro).

Such great news for his recovery.
