RICHIE PORTE CONFIRMS HE'S LEAVING TREK-SEGAFREDO
Tour de France will be Santos Tour Down Under winner Richie Porte's last with Trek-Segafredo, Cycling News confirmed today.
The Tasmanian has confirmed he will be leaving the team at the end of the year, closing the door on his role as team leader, to seek out domestique work with another team.
The 35-year-old, who is currently sitting in 11th place on GC at the Tour, confirmed his departure from Trek, and that the next two years will most likely be his last of his career.
"Obviously I won't be at Trek-Segafredo next year. I think that's pretty well known. I've signed elsewhere, but we have to wait because nothing has been officially released."
When Porte was asked if this would be the last attempt at Tour leadersip, he responded, "One hundred per cent".
So the question remains - where is Richie Porte going next year to serve as a domestique?
Certainly, there are rumours... All will be revealed soon!
