Paisley Wines is the result of a love affair with Barossa wine by long-time winemaker Derek Fitzgerald and his wife Kirsten. They live with their daughter in a hilltop home on their Angaston estate.
With 15 acres of established Shiraz and young vine Fiano and Mataro, this Eden Valley property forms the bedrock of the Paisley brand. They also source 70-year-old Grenache and 40-year-old Mataro from south Barossa and old vine Shiraz from the Barossa’s North-Western ridge.
The story behind the brand name is interwoven with history. Kirsten’s great-great grandfather came to Adelaide from Paisley, a town in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. The paisley pattern features in one of the ranges, the Fabric Series.
Other ranges include the Mixed by DJ Deadly Series and the Celtic Series. Bold new label designs are part of Paisley’s next chapter. They’re anything but traditional and reflect the couple’s approach to life.
