We all know Willunga Hill: scene of so much Santos Tour Down Under history and epic efforts from riders including Richie Porte and Sarah Gigante. But never before have we seen three ascents of its slopes – and the resulting impact on contenders for overall victory.

Whether you’re a die-hard cycling fan or just looking for a great day out in the Fleurieu Peninsula, here is everything you need to know to make the most of the THINK! Road Safety Men's Stage 4

Willunga Hill – Your base for the day

The day's action centers around the three climbs and the epic finish up Willunga Hill. Brookman Road is the ultimate vantage point to witness this stage. In between each climb you can stay across every tactical move and breakaway via the dedicated Big Screen, then refuel and catch the final sprint from the free Finish Line Hub. Be sure to stick around after the race for the Podium Presentation to celebrate the stage winner and the King of the Mountain.

The Willunga Hill finish is located on Brookman Road, near the junction of Old Willunga Hill Road. See our Stage Map for exact locations and download the Willunga Hill Finish Map to familiarise yourself with the precinct layout.

Eat & Drink

Willunga Hill will host a curated selection of local food favourites to keep your energy up all afternoon:

  • Gang Gang: Gourmet burgers

  • Braising Boy: Authentic, flavorful Mexican street food

  • La La Latte Co: Premium coffee

  • Big Softy’s Ice Cream: The perfect summer treat for a day on the roadside

Pro Tips for Spectators

  • Arrive early: With three ascents on the cards for 2026, the crowds will be bigger than ever. Aim to be on the hill well before the first pass to secure a prime spot on the barriers.

  • Pack the essentials: It’s a classic South Australian summer experience – bring plenty of sunscreen, a hat and reusable water bottles. There is a water point available where you can refill to stay hydrated throughout the day.

  • Don't miss a moment of the action: In between each climb, stay across the action by watching the live broadcast on the Big Screen.

  • Watch Safely: Please keep the road clear and use the dedicated pedestrian crossovers to navigate the precinct. Keep your eyes up and ensure children are supervised at all times.

  • Road Closures: Make sure to plan ahead! Visit our Road Closures page to ensure you can navigate to Willunga Hill and secure your spot before the race arrives.
