Australian cyclist Caleb Ewan will be on the start line at next year’s Santos Tour Down Under, in his first international and WorldTour race with new team, Team Jayco-AlUla.
Having ended his contract with Belgian team Lotto-Dstny, GreenEDGE Cycling announced this week that Ewan was returning home to the squad where he started his professional career in 2014.

A five-time individual Tour de France stage winner and with more than 60 UCI victories to his name, the Australian sprinter often referred to as the ‘Pocket Rocket’, is looking forward to lining up at the Santos Tour Down under once again.
Ewan has had great success in South Australia, having been a sprint classification winner, five-time Classic winner and nine-time stage winner in Australia’s greatest cycling race.
“I have always enjoyed racing in Adelaide. It is a great way to start off the year, and the support we get from Aussie crowds is incredible. I feel I have unfinished business in the Santos Tour Down Under and can’t wait to get back there, racing for Team Jayco-AlUla this January,” said Ewan.
Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Stuart O’Grady said it was a major coup having a rider of Caleb’s calibre on the start line in 2024.
“Caleb will be out to prove he is one of the fastest sprinters on the planet. He is a fan favourite at the Santos Tour Down Under and we can expect he will be out challenging in the Ziptrak Men’s Stage 1 Tanunda to Tanunda, Stage 3 Tea Tree Gully to Campbelltown and also the Hahn Stage 4 Murray Bridge to Port Elliot” said O’Grady.
