Family Action at the Santos Tour Down Under

Sunshine and spokes – what better combination to get active these summer holidays! It’s time to saddle up for the Santos Festival of Cycling, where kids can unlock their inner cycling champion. 

Health Partners Family Day
Saturday, 18 January at 2:00pm

First stop – the Tiny Tour at the Health Partners Family Day! Those aged five and under can tear through a mini race track on tricycles and balance bikes, all for free! The event on Saturday, 18 January also has a Tony & Marks cooking demonstration for parents to enjoy.

Health Partners Family Ride
Saturday, 18 January at 4:00pm

If you really want to hone your skills, sign up for the Health Partners Family Ride later that day. You’ll get to join Anna Meares OAM on the Villawood Men’s Classic circuit in Adelaide’s East End, riding as many laps as you like. What better way to feel like one of the pros!

AusBike School Holiday Program
20-24 January from 9:00am-11:00am

Two wheeled adventures continue with the AusBike School Holiday Program. Mixing education with adventure, accredited instructors will teach you the skills you need to safely get the most out of your bike. This caters for kids with all levels of bike riding experience - whether they're just off training wheels, or further down the track with their cycling journey.

Gumeracha Gears
Tuesday, 21 January at 11:30am

To get closer to the action, watch Ziptrak Men’s Stage One’s exciting finish at Gumeracha Gears. Your family will catch two loops of action before riders charge to the finish line in the Hills town’s main street. There will be entertainment by the finish line, plus fresh pressed juice and food offerings from local community groups.

Kids Zone
17-25 January at 11:00am

When you need a breather, the Kids Zone is the perfect pit stop. In the City of Adelaide Tour Village, you’ll find free craft activities and face painting, and even the chance to get a picture for your own pro rider card! Don’t forget to download these school holiday activities to get you started on your cycling journey.

Glenelg Ice Cream Festival
Thursday, 23 January at 4:00pm

By now, you’ve earned an ice cream! The place to be is the Glenelg Ice Cream Festival on Thursday, 23 January from 4pm, where you’ll find every flavour imaginable along Jetty Road. Plus there’s kid’s activities, food stalls, pop-up bars, and lots of entertainment. A sweet way to wrap up your family tour! 

Super Sunday Family Zone
Sunday, 26 January - 10am to 4pm

Get ready for a fun-filled family day at the Family Zone in Festival Plaza, where you’ll have the best spot to watch back-to-back racing for the final day of the Santos Tour Down Under, while enjoying a ton of exciting activities!

Parents can relax and recharge in the shaded rest area, while the little ones can get creative at craft stations, enjoy face painting, play games, meet the Santos Tour Down Under's mascot Oppy, and so much more!
