With all eyes on Sarah Gigante and Ruby Roseman-Gannon, it was an unexpected and exciting finish for TREK Stage 4.

On the final stage of the Santos Festival of Cycling, Gigante took on the role of domestique for the day, making way for teammate Georgia Baker to take the win.

Eager to secure the Ziptrak Sprint jersey and second overall, Ruby Roseman-Gannon of ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast went hard early, claiming the first intermediate sprint - which was enough to consolidate her spot on the podium.

Five riders went down ahead of the second sprint in a nasty crash on the straight.

Chelsea Holmes of Giant Racing Team, Grace Brown of Team BikeExchange and Kelly Fettes of Butterfields

Racing claimed second, third and fourth sprints respectively, after the pressure was put on the peloton with a couple of threatening attacks throughout the race.

It was all eyes on the finish as the final lap heated up, as peloton leader Sarah Gigante made way for Team

Garmin Australia teammate Georgia Baker to take the win, with Roseman-Gannon crossing the line in second position.

Of the win, Baker said the team made the decision during the race who was going to go for the win.

"We made the decision out there... We made the call with 10 laps to go between me and Netty (Annette Edmondson)."
