Make a day of it in Adelaide on Tuesday 20 January for Health Partners Family Ride and Prologue
From professional riders pushing their limits on the Prologue circuit to the youngest fans hopping on their own bikes, Victoria Park will transform into a vibrant, cycling-themed festival where family fun meets high-octane racing action on Tuesday 20 January 2026. Here's how to make a day of it.
Start here: Health Partners Family Day
The fun starts from 2pm with the Health Partners Family Day, packed with excitement for everyone.
Youngsters aged five and under can hit the mini racetrack on tricycles and balance bikes for the Tiny Tour, and meet the Santos Tour Down Under mascot, Oppy, for fun photos. While the kids dive into crafts, face painting, and more, parents can kick back in the shaded rest zone to recharge. It's the perfect prelude to the Prologue action!
Before the Family Ride & Prologue hits the circuit, be sure to catch the thrilling Santos Para-Cycling Criterium at 2.30pm.
Adelaide is home to a robust para-cycling program run through the South Australian Sports Institute, and this racing will showcase incredible local talent. Expect to see fierce competition from our up-and-coming para-cyclists, alongside the multiple world champions and Paralympic medallists who call South Australia home.
The kids hit the track: Health Partners Family Ride
Kids and adults alike can hop on their bikes and ride together on a section of the Prologue circuit for the the Health Partners Family Ride. Whether your child is just learning to ride or you’re a seasoned cyclist ready to lead the way, is a great chance to share the joy of cycling as a family. Registrations open at 2pm, with the main event kicking off from 4pm until 5pm.
Get ready for the action: Prologue
City buzz is certain as we open with an individual time trial for just the second time in race history – a move set to test any general classification contenders who lose precious seconds on day one. The 3.6-kilometre prologue begins at 6pm, just beyond the Tour Village in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga and continues east to finish after a lap of the Victoria Park criterium circuit.
There are plenty of ways to watch the action, from a hospitality package to our free Hutt Street Live Site or the Victoria Park Finish Line Hub.
Keep the party going at the Podium Presentation to celebrate the day's winner. It’s the best way to wrap up a day touring the action.
