Scicon Sports On Board As Official Eyewear And Cycling Bag Partner
An Italian performance cycling brand chosen by five-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates has joined the Santos Tour Down Under as preparations for the event’s milestone 2027 edition continue.
Scicon Sports will feature as official eyewear and cycling bag partner at the Santos Tour Down Under Bike Expo from 16 to 24 January – a move set to further strengthen its presence in international professional cycling.
Fans are invited to check out Scicon Sport’s range of solutions designed for cyclists, from high-performance eyewear to bags engineered for bike transport, and will receive an exclusive 15 per cent discount on purchases in person and online.
Fans can use the code STDU15 at au.sciconsports.com for a 15 per cent discount ahead of the event. The 2027 Santos Tour Down Under is set to make history as the first UCI WorldTour event to feature men and women racing across the same day, route and distance.
Santos Tour Down Under Commercial Director Alex Pietrus said the partnership was a natural fit.
“Scicon has an impressive pedigree in professional cycling, with its products trusted by some of the world’s best riders, making it a great match for an event that attracts cycling fans from Australia and around the world,” he said.
“The Bike Expo is a fantastic opportunity for fans to get up close with the latest products and innovations from leading cycling brands, and we’re pleased to be able to feature Scicon products as part of the experience.”
Scicon Sports Chief Executive Heinrich Dannhauser said the partnership was an opportunity for the brand to strengthen its presence in the Australian market and connect with one of the most active and passionate cycling communities in the world.
“Cycling is a constantly evolving sport and, for Scicon Sports, innovation means anticipating the needs of those who experience cycling at the highest level,” he said.
“The Santos Tour Down Under marks the beginning of the UCI WorldTour season and brings together some of the world’s best athletes every year. In 2027, with the new format bringing men and women to race on the same roads, on the same day and over the same distance, the event will also represent an important step forward for our sport.
“It is a setting that perfectly reflects our vision: developing products capable of supporting cyclists through the most demanding challenges, through innovation, research and attention to detail. We are proud to join the Santos Tour Down Under and bring our experience to Australian cycling.”
Scicon Sports products on display at the Bike Expo within the City of Adelaide Tour Village will include the Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium, worn by Pogačar to win the 2026 Tour de France, and the Aerocomfort 3.1 XP, a travel bag designed to provide a high level of protection when transporting a road bike.
Scicon Sports was founded in 1980 in an Italian garage and has always had a clear mission: protecting bicycles during transport and providing reliable solutions for air, rail and road travel.
The brand quickly became synonymous with safety and quality, earning the trust of cycling legends such as Francesco Moser, Mario Cipollini, Chris Froome, Vincenzo Nibali, Peter Sagan and Pogačar.
ASG Group became the main shareholder in 2011, marking the start of significant global growth. Scicon Sports expanded into sports eyewear in 2019, rapidly becoming a favourite among professionals and enthusiasts. Its eyewear has since celebrated victories in more than 500 WorldTour races, including one Giro d’Italia and five Tour de France titles won by Pogačar.
With operations in more than 40 countries, a design lab in Italy, and an established presence in key markets including the United States, Canada, South Africa and Australia, Scicon Sports continues to innovate with the ambition to become a global leader in cycling eyewear and to further strengthen its position in the bike bag segment.
