The Aussies Taking on the 2024 Tour de France Femmes

As the Tour de France Femmes prepares for its 2024 edition, excitement is mounting for the Australian contingent ready to compete.

Featuring a mix of seasoned pros and rising stars, this talented Aussie lineup will tackle eight challenging stages across 949 kilometres.

While many eyes will be on returning 2023 champion Demi Vollering, there is no doubt these nine Australians will showcase their talent and determination as they compete for the coveted Yellow Jersey.

Among them, Grace Brown - fresh from her Paris Olympics’ gold medal win. Brown is not only a powerhouse in time trials but also a bona fide race winner on the UCI Women's WorldTour, with a victory at the 2023 Santos Tour Down Under. Riding for Team FDJ-SUEZ, this year will mark Brown’s third appearance at the Tour de Femmes. Can she add a stage win or even a GC victory to her list of accomplishments before she wraps up her career at the end of the year?

Ruby Roseman-Gannon is making waves as an Aussie cyclist with Liv AlUla Jayco. She snagged the Santos Festival of Cycling title in 2022 and put in a strong showing at the Santos Tour Down Under in 2023. Keep an eye out for her during the sprints as she takes on her second go at the race.

Racing alongside Roseman-Gannon for Liv AlUla Jayco, Amber Pate will be making her Tour de France Femmes debut. With two strong showings at Santos Tour Down Under in 2023 and 2024, Amber's versatility and drive make her one to watch.

2024 Santos Tour Down Under winner Sarah Gigante will be making her Tour de Femmes debut with AG Insurance-Soudal. This race has been on her bucket list since the early stages of her professional career, and she now gets to live out that dream five years on. Gigante’s impressive performance atop Willunga Hill earlier in the year puts her in strong form to tackle the iconic Alpe d’Huez on the final stage.

Just as she did at this year’s Santos Tour Down Under, Gigante will have support from teammate Anya Louw who will make her second appearance at the prestigious race.

Veteran Amanda Spratt will be lining up for her third Tour de Femmes where she will support Lidl-Trek’s GC riders Gaia Realini and Shirin van Anrooij. The three-time Santos Tour Down Under winner finished in the top ten at last year’s French race after taking over the leaders role when teammate Elisa Longo Borghini abandoned the race.

Coming off a successful campaign at the Giro d’Italia in July Neve Bradbury will make her debut in Paris for the Canyon//SRAM Racing team. She ended up third overall in Italy after winning the hardest climbing stage and had success in January, again placing third in her debut at the Santos Tour Down Under.

Sarah Roy and Josie Talbot who have both raced at the Santos Tour Down Under in past editions will both line up for the second time at the Tour for the French team Cofidis.

As the race unfolds from Rotterdam to Alpe d'Huez these Australian riders will undoubtedly be ones to watch, bringing skill, strategy, and a fierce competitive spirit to the peloton.
