Ride for a reason with Cancer Council
Ride for a reason is your chance to make your ride count—because every dollar you raise funds Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support programs.
Whether it’s for a mate who’s just been diagnosed, a family member you’ve lost, or to contribute to a better future for your kids—every one of us has a reason to push for better.
How it works
Take part in the Challenge Tour ahead of the pros, or set your own Distance Challenge throughout Tour Week. It’s up to you—and the more you raise, the more high-quality Santini cycling kit you earn. There will be prizes to win along the way, plus you’ll earn your registration fee back as soon as you hit the target.
Find your flock
Best of all, when you Ride for a reason during the Santos Tour Down Under, you’ll be welcomed into the tight-knit community of riders who all share one thing in common: a determination to make a difference.
Led by former Olympian and Santos Tour Down Under winner Pat Jonker, the team gets together for monthly rides—but you don’t have to be an athlete to join in. Through the Ride for a reason online community, you can plan to meet up, share tips, and support each other as your fundraise in the lead-up to January 2020.
With one in two Australians diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, the need to find better ways to detect and treat cancer is real. Make your ride count this Santos Tour Down Under and register to Ride for a reason.
