About Associated Events

The Associated Events program is our collection of independently hosted events and activations that form part of the broader Santos Tour Down Under Festival program. 

We encourage businesses at start and finish locations, as well as along the race routes to get involved and showcase their event, venue and products to those wanting to enjoy a little bit more of South Australia. This might simply be an activation, such as a Santos Tour Down Under themed food offering (e.g. TDU donut) or a venue event, like an organised lunch to watch the peloton pass. 

Celebrating 25 Years of the Santos Tour Down Under 

This year, as we celebrate 25 years of Australia’s greatest cycling race, we want to see the entire South Australian community come together to make this milestone year truly special. We’re encouraging businesses along the race routes and beyond to host unique and exciting events that capture the spirit of this momentous occasion. Whether it’s a 25th year themed activation, a special event that highlights a historical moment of the Santos Tour Down Under, or an innovative way to bring people together, we want your creativity to shine! 

This is your opportunity to contribute to the 25th year celebrations and be a part of a program that will be remembered for years to come. Let’s make 2025 a year where every corner of South Australia is buzzing with energy, excitement and pride as we commemorate this milestone in the history of the Santos Tour Down Under.  

Each nominated activation and event is assessed by the Santos Tour Down Under Team. Acceptance into the program is not guaranteed but event organisers will endeavour to work with interested parties where possible to provide opportunities to be involved. 

Selection Criteria

  • A compelling South Australian tourism experience 
  • No commercial partner exclusivity conflicts 
  • Activity that can be potentially integrated into the race broadcast 
  • Builds on the spectator experience 
  • Bricks and Mortar Business 

Benefits 

Acceptance into the Santos Tour Down Under associated events and activations program includes a wealth of benefits.  

It allows an associated event/activation host the right to use the Santos Tour Down Under “Associated Event” trademark logo to market their event. They will also benefit from the overarching marketing and communications activities for the entire festival and may receive additional support through various targeted digital, social and publicity campaigns. All ticket revenue from an associated event is passed on directly to the event host, and likewise all costs associated with running the event remain the event host’s responsibility.

HOW TO APPLY 

All associated event applications must be processed through Eventotron. When applying, you will be asked to provide detail on your event including venue and marketing information, plus images. See step-by-step instructions on creating an event here.

  1. Visit https://www.eventotron.com/
  2. Click Login / Sign Up 
  3. If you have previously registered an event with Eventotron, please use your existing login details. 
  4. Click on Festivals & Seasons and search for Santos Tour Down Under 2025 
  5. Click ‘apply’ 
  6. Work your way through the application completing Steps 1-6 of the application form
