Join the team that helps bring the Santos Tour Down Under to life while raising valuable funds for your club, community group or charity. As a traffic marshal, you'll enjoy a unique race-day experience, get closer to the action and play an essential role in delivering a world-class event.

Traffic marshals earn a donation of $75 per person, per day for self-drive traffic marshals on double race days and for those travelling in traffic marshal vans on all race days. A donation of $50 per person, per day applies to self-drive traffic marshals on men's race days only (Stages 1-3).

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR SANTOS TOUR DOWN UNDER TRAFFIC MARSHALS:

Traffic Marshals must:

Be over 18 years of age.
Be able to speak and read English language fluently.
Attend a traffic marshal training session (1st year traffic marshals only)
Be generally fit, and happy to stand unassisted for extended periods and undertaking operational duties (this role is not suitable for individuals requiring mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walking supports).
On days rostered on, able to either drive to their designated traffic marshal point, or able to make it to the Torrens Parade Ground to be taken to traffic marshal points in one of our provided vans. Lunch will be provided.
Feel confident enough to assist SAPOL on quieter roads with the stop/slow of traffic or flagging race hazards (e.g traffic islands). After undertaking a traffic marshal training course, these actions (how, when, for how long, and all other areas around traffic marshalling, should have you feeling confident in the role).
