About the climb

Newland Hill is one of the original Santos Tour Down Under climbs and it will certainly get your heart into gear if you're setting out for the western shores of the Fleurieu Peninsula (Normanville, Rapid Bay up towards Port Willunga).

Hitting a maximum grade of 18.2%, you'll average almost 8% for the 1.6km journey - a tricky test but one with its own reward with great views of the southern ocean as you make your way along Waitpinga Road.
